Google Chrome Operating System.

The search giant is not satisfied with Chrome browser and Android but goes a step further in creating a Google Chrome OS. Google Chrome OS will be an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Google Chrome Operating System is Linux Kernel with Chrome to fit happily with x86 and ARM processor pc. Speed, simplicity and security will be the key features of Google Chrome OS. The OS is fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal and mainly user experience is web related hence underlying security architecture of the OS is so designed that users don't have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. For application developers, all web-based applications will work and new applications can be written using available web technologies. These apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thus give developers the largest user base of any platform. We want to send our email right away, without wasting time waiting for computer to boot and browser to start up. We want our computers to run as fast as when they were new and we do not want to lose sleep fearing losing data or forgetting to back up files. Even more we don't want to spend hours configuring our computers for new hardware with their software updates. According to Google all these issues will be taken care of with the launch of their new operating system. source http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/introducing-google-chrome-os.html
